Your's Alone
If I were standing in church singing a praise song, but my mind was on the golf course, would the Lord approve the sacrifice of my praise? God's word says "no." He wants a life (and a mind) wholly devoted to Him. I can sing all I want, but if my mind is elsewhere, my praise is worthless. Now, imagine a marriage (or any serious relationship) where one of the parties is there in body, but not in mind. Men can certainly be guilty of such a thing--becoming roommates instead of a husbands or partners. But, to be honest, fanaticizing is more often a sin practiced by the fairer sex. Many women are guilty of fanaticizing. Like men, they commit adultery with their minds, but usually not as graphically as men. Still, they'll "imagine" themselves being swept away by another man, or "wondering" how life with this or that guy would be. If you suffer from much fanaticizing, it could be that it wasn't your fault in the beginning. Maybe your husband or boyfriend wasn't treating you like he should. But, especially if he's your husband and you're not completely and "wholly" devoted to him, then you're mind and your body are on different wavelengths. You are a double minded person and this is not a relationship the Lord can bless. If you're a wife (or planning to be one), then you are commanded to "leave" your parents and "cleave" (become one) with your husband. That means in body, AND in mind. For you, fanaticizing about other men makes you as guilty as a man would be who lusted after other women. Is your fantasy life something you need to lay at the altar of God?
