Serve?
‘For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ Matthew 25:35-40
Friends,
As we head into the new year, this definition of serve that my husband shared with me is ringing in my ears: to put people at ease.
That could look so many different ways: helping a mama who is trying to feed her babies. Praying for someone before the doctor's appointment coming up. Helping someone move. Reaching out to see how things are going. Meeting together to talk. Furnishing a new apartment. Being available.
This year, I want to keep a journal of all the ways I see people being put at ease through the various ministries of Harvest. I can't wait to see the good things God will do as our hearts and minds continue to tune into His work around us and share them with you!
We would love to continue to partner with you as we work to serve our community - one person, one heart at a time. Here are some ways to do that…
