Treasure?
"Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey your word." Psalm 119:67
When I was a young man I absolutely hated getting in trouble. I always thought my parents were too hard on me and I would have done just about anything not to get caught doing something wrong. That did not include, however, not doing anything wrong! I didn't have an aversion to being evil, I just didn't want to get caught doing it! As I've grown older, believe it or not, I've actually learned to treasure the boundaries, the discipline and even the punishment that was laid out for me in my youth. Without it, I would have never become anything God could use for positive.
"It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees. The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold." Psalm 119:71-72
